Rhyl made it 3 Dafabet Welsh Premier League wins in a row in an entertaining victory over Airbus UK Broughton in front of the live Sgorio cameras. Rhyl made a lively start with Alex Jones unlucky with an early opportunity which brought a save from Ryan Nield, the Airbus keeper and then the match settled with Airbus having a large amount of possession without creating many chances. In the 20th minute Carl Lamb's header was cleared by Paul Connolly whilst Rakim Newton and Airbus's Tom Mathews picked up early bookings.
The game came to life in the 32nd minute as a good run through the middle from Rakim Newton played Rob Hughes in, who drove at the heart of the Airbus defence and laid the ball of to Toby Jones inside the area who then ghosted past Matty McGinn and placed his finish past Ryan Nield to put the Lilywhites 1-0 up.
Three minutes later the Lilywhites doubled the lead as Alex Jones was on hand to capitalise on an Airbus defensive error. A weak back pass by Jonny Spittle saw Alex Jones pounce on the opportunity who then calmly placed the ball past Nield.
In the second half Rhyl continued to create chances and after seven minutes a good interception from Rob Hughes played in Carl Lamb out wide on the right who put in a low cross which allowed Alex Jones to slot home from the edge of the six yard box.
Airbus UK Broughton grabbed a consolation goal in the 87th minute through a defensive error which allowed Tony Gray to pounce but the hosts deserved the win which put them up to third place in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League.
