The Lilywhites were blown apart by the students from Cardiff Met in the opening 15 minutes of this Dafabet Welsh Premier League clash. A mixture of great finishing and poor defending enabled the students to race into a lead which never looked like being challenged.
The opening goal came after 5 minutes when a weak Owen Evans clearance allowed Jordan Lam to run down the Cardiff left and his cross in the area found Eliot Evans in the box who took his chance. Four minutes later an Adam Ruscrow cross from the Cardiff right found Will Evans unmarked and he headed home from close range.
The afternoon was to get worse 6 minutes later as a clumsy challenge by Rob Hughes in the box saw referee David Morgan point to the spot and Kyle McCarthy converted the penalty and the students were 3-0 up within 15 minutes.
The second half saw the students carve out the better chances and their play was rewarded in the 75th minute when an Owen Evans fumble allowed the ball to drop to Jordan Lam who walked the ball towards the goal past a scrambling Evans and Lam slotted home from 6 yards out.
The result extended the Lilywhites run to 5 straight defeats in the League from 5 away matches and Niall McGuinness men will know that they will need to improve after this disappointing performance.
